Before Surgery: How to Choose Your First Faja Without Feeling LostUpdated a month ago

By Fajas Tributo
Preparing for surgery comes with a lot of decisions, and compression is one of the biggest. You may already have a surgery date, doctor instructions, and a long list of questions: Which stage do I need? What if I swell a lot? Do I need boards or foams? What if I choose the wrong style?
Let’s make it simpler.
The right garment should match your recovery stage, your procedure, and the way your body may change after surgery.
Start With Medical Guidance
Before choosing a style, ask your surgeon what type of compression they want you to wear right after surgery. The first few days are very different from week two, week three, or month three.
For many recovery journeys, Stage 1 is the starting point. It is designed for early swelling, sensitivity, and limited movement. Depending on your procedure, it may also need to work with drains, foams, boards, or other accessories.
Stage 2 and Stage 3 usually come later. More compression does not always mean better support, especially at the beginning. Timing should depend on your healing process, incision status, swelling, and doctor recommendations.
Questions to Ask Before Checkout
What stage did my surgeon recommend for the first days after surgery?
Will I have drains, and does my first faja need to work with them?
Did my surgeon recommend foams, an ab board, a back board, or other accessories?
What areas need the most support: abdomen, back, hips, thighs, arms, or underarms?
Do I prefer a built-in bra, or bra-free support?
Do I need help choosing before I place the order?
Why Stage 1 Deserves Its Own Attention

Stage 1 is designed for the first phase of recovery, when swelling, sensitivity, and limited movement are more common. At Fajas Tributo, you can choose between two Stage 1 designs:
1000-7 With Bra: A good option if you want built-in bust support and prefer not to wear a separate bra during early recovery.
1000-4 No Bra: A better fit if you prefer bra-free support, need more flexibility in the bust area, or your surgeon recommends avoiding pressure there.
Both options are designed to support early post-op recovery. The best choice depends on your procedure, comfort needs, and your surgeon’s instructions.
What Fajas Tributo Can Help You Decide
If you are buying before surgery and feel unsure, a Compression Expert can help you choose with more clarity.
What Not to Do
Do not choose only because a faja looks stronger.
Do not assume Stage 2 is better for the first days unless your surgeon says it is time.
Do not ignore drains, swelling, or accessory recommendations.
Do not wait until the last minute if your faja needs customization or shipping time.
Do not force a product recommendation if your main need is actually guidance.
Friendly Reminder
Every recovery is personal. Two women can have similar procedures and still need different support because swelling, body shape, comfort needs, and doctor instructions can vary. Still, Stage 1 is often the most common starting point after surgery because it is designed for the early days of recovery, when the body needs gentle, practical support.
